MBC Marine SDC units cool and heat your cabin straight from the boat’s battery bank, with no generator or shore power needed. They are self-contained systems in four sizes, from 7,000 to 16,000 BTU/h, for 12V, 24V and 48V DC systems.
SDC units are made for sailboats, catamarans and smaller motorboats that spend nights at anchor or have no room for a generator. Quiet operation and low current draw make them practical for overnight cooling from a lithium battery bank.

Currents are measured values; the actual draw depends on sea water temperature, humidity, cabin temperature and wiring.
Runtime is roughly the usable battery capacity divided by the average current. A 24V 100 Ah LiFePO4 battery gives about 90 Ah of usable capacity.
Once the cabin reaches the set temperature, the compressor cycles and the real runtime gets longer. Higher sea water temperature, humidity and cabin temperature shorten it.
With the optional Smart Touch controller, every SDC unit gets ECO mode, which lowers power consumption by up to 40% and extends battery runtime. The same controller connects the unit to MBC Marine Smart Connect for remote control from your phone, fault notifications and remote support from your dealer.
